The Jordi Pascuet Trials Training Camp in South Australia was a huge success on the weekend, with a large group of 40 odd riders.
Firstly I want to extend a huge thanks to local organizer Andrew Warnest from the Keyneton Motorcycle Club for a massive effort on his behalf……what a great job.
Jordi had done a Training camp for The Hell Team and Trials Victoria the previous weekend and flew over Thursday night, meeting myself, Kyle Middleton and Kristie McKinnon at Adelaide Airport.
Avis had a GG red Commodore wagon waiting at the airport and we trundled up to Shane and Leanne Kraft’s place, at Tanunda, for the night – we couldn’t have been looked after better.
Friday morning greeted us with a superb breakfast at Chez Kraft and a fun tour around the Barossa before an evening of “lectures” at the Keyneton Club rooms. Topics discussed were fitness, nutrition, bike setup, and sponsorship from myself, Jordi, Kyle and Kristie, as well as a great talk from Para-Olympian, Gold Medalist, Tim Maloney.
Saturday started with a group warm up from Jordi before being split up into smaller groups for rotational lessons from the main trainers Jordi, Kyle, Kristie and Adrian Harry, SA local Expert.
I’d also really like to thank all the local parents who kindly dived in as minders, catchers, support staff, running drinks around, organizing food (especially Tanja!), it really was a great club effort.
On the way back in the plane to Sydney on Sunday night we all spoke about how satisfying it is to see so many happy faces at the end of the weekend, with a real improvement in skills, confidence and determination in all the riders. It really makes the effort all worthwhile. Hope we can do it again next year guys.
We all back up for the Sydney leg this weekend, and then pour Jordi back onto a flight that should see him back home in Spain very late on Xmas eve – he is amazing!
Thanks everyone again for making these such a success. Paul
